Underdog runs the same fundamental game as every pick'em app — fixed multipliers against player lines — with its own structures, its own pricing personality, and its own soft spots.
The structures
- 2-pick, 3x — break-even 57.7% per leg.
- 3-pick, 6x — break-even 55.0% per leg.
- Insured entries — a miss still pays partially; grade them with full distribution math, not leg averages.
Shifted payouts are a price change
Correlated picks don't get blocked on Underdog — they get repriced. The multiplier shifts down to account for the correlation, which silently moves your break-even up. An entry that cleared the math at 6x may fail it at 5.4x. Always grade the entry at the multiplier you'll actually receive — the terminal reads the structure you're building and prices accordingly, and generated entries keep one pick per game so the advertised multiplier survives contact.
Where Underdog edges show up
- Coverage niches: Underdog carries deep esports and college markets where fewer eyes mean slower lines.
- Line divergence: the same player is routinely a half-point different from other apps. That half-point is often the entire EV.
- News lag windows: sportsbooks move in seconds; pick'em lines follow. The gap is measurable and the board re-ranks continuously as it opens and closes.
The workflow
Underdog tab → sort by EV% → read the green → verify the leg in the research view → build in a locked structure → review and submit on Underdog yourself. Same math, every app — that's the point.
